Thank you for a great start to the 2020-2021 school year! We are almost half-way through the first quarter and I want to encourage you to keep pushing forward. As we learn the ways of distance learning and work together to find what works best for each course of study, we all grow together. Through distance learning we will continue to encounter new challenges, develop new skills, and amaze ourselves as we develop our expertise in navigating this digital world we find ourselves in. Thank you for your persistence and your patience.
Now is the time to get connected to our campus. Even though our athletics teams, arts programs, and activities groups are not meeting in person, many are meeting virtually and planning for the future. I encourage you to take time to learn about the opportunities available to be part of our ALHS community.
Another key to success is communication. Especially while we are in a distance learning format, it is easy to lose touch and fall behind. Know that our staff is here to help you stay connected and provide you with the resources you need to be successful. Please make sure that you are using our 3 primary technology platforms—Outlook, Canvas, and Zoom. Check the “Resources” tab on our school website for information about technology support, mental health services, and more.
Braves, no matter the format—virtual or in person—attendance is critical to your success. Make sure that you are following the bell schedule, attending your Zoom meetings on your designated days, participating in class discussions with your cameras on, and turning in your assignments on time.
I look forward to partnering with you to make this our best year ever! Please follow me on Twitter @AltaLomaHIgh for the latest news.
